Interesting that Home Secretary has warned British judges to take account of the views of MPs.  Anyone who has observed Parliament in session or read Hansards, would wonder exactly which MP is to be heard and which view is to be adopted!

Best the let the judiciary follow the black letter of the law (using the current rules of interpretation) and not the waffle that comes from the floor of parliament that seldom translates into law.

Even when the law is made by parliament, the judges have to make sense of the language used and in some cases, such as Human Rights Act (where Parliament deliberately chose to make the judges apply a vague set of laws) the Home Secretary should change the law not pick on the judges!

Hands off our Judges, they are independent. Keep it that way.

The BBC have a great radio recording that explores this issue in context of the hot topics of the day (such as euthanasia).
