Last night I was extremely fortunate to have been invited to hear Prof Regan explain the radical Jackson reforms, hosted by the Ismaili Centre. An excellent speaker for the professional, for jurists and the uninformed and a clarion call for all business leaders: mediate don’t litigate.
The long-awaited Jackson reforms will come into force on 1 April 2013 and will bring about major changes to civil litigation in England and Wales. Lawyers Herbret Smith Freehills have published a free guide which summarises (on two sides of A4) the key changes and their implications for business leaders. You can access the guide here.
Being invited to the lecture was indeed a pleasure and privilege. It was my first time in the building and so I was left inspired by the architecture, the volunteers who welcomed and supported us had an opporuity to learn of the long history the Ismaili centre have in providing free mediation to their community: a role model for the secular and non secular alike.
